It’s taken me over a decade, but I’ve finally hiked Snowdon!

Snowdon

Snowdon

Stayed in a little cottage about 30 minutes away from Llanberis and went up on a Monday with some friends and their dog.  I didn’t take Bug as he’s a bit old to be hiking Snowdon.  On the Monday, we went to the beach and had some fun playing with the action cameras there and had food at a local restaurant.  The food was decent and they had local ale from Purple Moose brewery, I had a bottle of The Dark Side of the Moose, it was a good ale.

The next day, we got up early and made our way to Llanberis.  We started hiking between 8:30am and 9am and it only took us 6hrs 20mins in total; we did have a break or two along the way.

  • 9.29 miles;
  • 26,562 steps;
  • 2,515 calories burnt; although quite a few consumed along the way 🙂
  • fastest mile was on the way down and it took just under 27 minutes.
  • For Loki’s stats just add a 0 to the end of mine! He must have taken 10 steps to my 1.

The weather was quite good for a hike, dry and not too hot.  Unfortunately, it was a bit foggy at the top.  We did see one guy taking his rowing machine for a walk, he is doing the national three peaks challenge but walking between destinations while carrying his rowing machine!

I took a time lapse on our descent
