After Vienna we headed to the main reason for the holiday – The Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.
We had tickets for the whole weekend and we made sure we saw as much as possible. On arrival it was very easy to get into the track and would have been easy to get to our grandstand had we gone the right way around the track. Instead we went the opposite way and it took us an hour and half to get to our seats; it was definitely beer time and FP1 just happened to start at the right time.
Over the weekend we saw some amazing wheel to wheel racing in the F2 and Porsche Super Cup races, the F1 was the highlight of course with Max Verstappen winning at his ‘home’ grand prix. The Red Bull Ring is located in the middle of a mountain range and the scenery was amazing to see, and from our seats in the Red Bull grandstand we could see around 80% of the track. I’ve definitely been spoilt as I imagine no other track will give such views. We were also treated to the Red Bull air display team – got some good shots of that.
