From one extreme to the other the Loonies have gone from Pen Y Fan and being above jets to venturing into the Rhiwbach Mine for some cave photography!

It was an early start, left the house at 5:45 am, and met up with fellow a Loonie so that we could car share for the rest of the trip up to Cwm Penmachno in North Wales.  3.5 hours of being in the car means we built up a good appetite for breakfast.  As Loonie tradition dictates, a big breakfast is required to fuel the day (especially as we were heading underground and was expecting it to get pretty cold)  Unfortunately, we were too hungry to take a picture of breakfast!

We headed down into the mine and the photography began.

It's a big cavern

We ended up being underground for approximately 5-6 hours, it only felt like 3 though!  We might have taken a detour or two to get out of the mine, but we got back to the cars with no issues and then found a pub for the traditional debrief.  It was 21:30 by the time I got home, rained heavily the whole way!

Until the next meet!
